Defensive Driving

Defensive Driving (also known as Driver Improvement Program) is a 6-hour course designed to help individuals review rules of the road, techniques for driving defensively, and the importance of driving more safely, legally and with greater respect to fellow drivers. The course is generally taken for several reasons:

1) Drivers who are in jeopardy of having their license suspended due to an accumulation of points can complete the course and keep their license.
2) Drivers who have received traffic citations and / or traffic points can take the course to possibly reduce up to 7 points on their motor vehicle report (MVR).
3) Drivers who have already had their license suspended may take the course to be eligible for possible reinstatement.
4) Drivers over 25 years old who have a clean driving record with no tickets or claims for the last 3 years can take the course and receive up to a 10% insurance discount.

To take the defensive driving course, simply come by our office during regular office hours, sign the agreement, pay $75 and then come to the upcoming class of your choosing. You may also choose to call in your credit card or debit card number to register and then sign the agreement when you come to class. Classes are generally held twice monthly on a Saturday or Sunday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Breaks are taken hourly and you will be allowed one hour for lunch.
